An overview of the design operation and maintenance
This operation is conducted from a refractory-protected mudgun cabin. The operator then lowers the mudgun and rams the clay into the tap-hole. In the event of a mudgun failure manual clay stoppers are used to close the tap-hole. Clay consumption is measured after every matte tap.
